Gwynedd Gate, located at the entrance to Lower Gwynedd Township, is designed by Architects, J. K. Roller & Associates, to reflect the residential character of the surrounding community. The facades of the two and three story buildings show the traditional field stone and stucco look found in the Lower Gwynedd area, with double hung mullioned windows, chimney and peaked roofs of a red color, carrying through the warm tones of the building exteriors.
The entrances to the buildings are highlighted by canopied standing seam roofs, with entrance lobbies, finished with granite floors and vinyl wall covering, showing a two story open staircase. Elevators service all floors of the buildings. A keypad and telephone entry system, connected to each office, controls after business hour access.
The buildings have full sprinkler fire suppression systems and are heated and air conditioned by high efficient electric heat pumps, individually controlled by the tenants. All tenant spaces are separately metered by PECO, with dual metering systems, measuring electric heat consumed during winter months, which provide tenants with special low rates at a substantial savings in electric cost.
The structural system of the buildings provides for high ceilings in tenant spaces and floor loads designed for 80 pounds per square foot. All exterior walls, windows and attic areas are well insulated.
The buildings at Gwynedd Gate sit in a park like setting. Old established trees remain and the grounds are extensively landscaped, with an automatic water irrigation system. Sidewalks lead to the entrances, and curbs of the parking lot are cobblestone. The trash enclosure and extensive signage are finished in material in keeping with the character of the buildings.
